We had such a wonderful week! So many incredible activities associated with our Apple Days…the kids had a blast. A HUGE THANK YOU to all of the wonderful volunteers and the delicious donations. We started presenting our timelines today. They are so beautiful, and the students are loving being able to share about their whole lives. Attached is Falcon Focus Week 5. Remember, they can practice their spelling words at home on Spelling City, just use the link from my website. The students are also welcome to log onto Lexia or Dreambox for some extra practice!
We are still looking for volunteers for our fall carnival booth. Any and all help is very much appreciated!
We had a case of strep throat, so please take a look at the pink flyer that went home, and check your child.
Are any of you interested in volunteering in the school garden weekly? I am open to the idea of having a weekly time slot for Room 19 to work in the Garden. If you are able to commit to an hour each week, I can check with the Garden Coordinators to see if a certain time slot is open. You would work in the garden with 10-12 kiddos for 30 minutes and then we would switch out a new group of students for an additional 30 minutes. If this sounds enjoyable to you, please shoot me an email!
Here are some important dates to take note of:
Tuesday, October 1st PICTURE DAY! Make-up day will be October 8th
Friday, October 4th Progress Reports go home
Saturday, October 12th Fall Carnival
Thursday, October 24th ZOO FIELD TRIP
Monday, November 11th NO SCHOOL – VETERAN’S DAY

Have a wonderful weekend!
Mrs. Amanda Boen
Welcome to Room 19!
I hope everyone had a wonderful summer. Welcome to Cajon Park for the 2019-2020 school year! My name is Mrs. Boen, and I am your child’s 2nd grade teacher.
I believe that communication is key to creating strong relationships with families. To that end, I will be updating my website on a regular basis to keep you aware of the exciting events going on in our classroom. I will also be sending out emails and messages through ClassDojo, so please be checking for those. I encourage you to e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org, send a note, or leave me a voicemail at (619) 956-2449 if you have ANY questions or concerns.
Your child will be receiving a Falcon Folder. This Falcon Folder will hold any handouts and important paperwork. The folder will need to be returned to school every day to be checked.
I am so happy to be working with you and your child, and promise to do my utmost to ensure that they reach their full potential while in my class!
