Cannot believe that we have hit the 100th day of school already! At times it really feels like the year is flying by.
The kiddos have been learning about different climate zones around the world, and next week we are taking a look at the way the world changes through earthquakes and volcanoes. In math, we are continuing our work on triple and double digit subtraction with un-grouping (borrowing) and working with money. Please practice these skills at home! In writing, we are finishing up our states' reports and in the next couple weeks we will be starting biographies. This trimester's writing focus is informational.
On another note, we have been struggling with some disruptive behaviors in class. I have been having daily heart to heart discussions with the children about not talking when someone else is talking, not wandering around the room, and not distracting other students from finishing their work. Please talk about these behaviors at home, and how we can work together to make our classroom a more positive environment.
A quick reminder, Falcon Folders must come to school everyday. I have had several students not bring theirs back, and they end up missing items that are supposed to go home, or not turning things in when they are due. I have had quite a few kiddos missing homework packets week after week!
As always, please feel free to contact me via email or by phone at (619) 956-2449. Have a great weekend!
