    Jump 1

Each year in February, Heart Health Month, students all around Santee School District are hopping, skipping, and jumping for Jump Rope For Heart. This year Santee School District students raised $18,863.75 for the American Heart Association and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance.  Several schools received visits from the Coronado Speed Spinners, a competition and performance jump rope team.  Jump Rope For Heart (JRFH) is a national fundraising program sponsored jointly by the American Heart Association the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.  Besides raising funds for cardiovascular disease research, stroke research, and health education, it is a valuable program that promotes physical activity, heart healthy living, and community service to children.

Jump Rope For Heart is a great service learning project for students providing a terrific way to learn about community service, integrating physical activity and critical thinking skills while promoting physical activity.
