Welcome Pepper Drive families and students to this 2017-18 school year!
I am Pepper Drive’s 8th Grade Language Arts teacher. I’ve been teaching for 17 years, and this is my 12th year here at Pepper. Awesome!
I attended SDSU for my BA Degree in Liberal Studies with the emphasis of Elementary Education and a Specialization in Linguistics. I graduated with Distinctive Honors in 1998 and earned my teaching credential at National University in 2000. I’m just a few credits shy of my Masters Degree which I plan to achieve very soon. I really love to teach and learn — and I hope my many passions will make this year’s learning experiences rewarding for you!
Teaching is a big part of my life, but I have many other interests too. Family is my #1. They are my treasures and I often repeat my youngest son’s phrase of, “I love you more than there are hydrogen atoms in the universe.” Oh wow, that’s a lot! Ha! I can’t wait to tell you about my family when I meet you; they are amazing people, doing amazing things. Remind me to tell you about Arrow too! She’s a funny thing! I enjoy cooking; it taps into my creative side, and it’s a great feeling when everyone helps themselves to seconds or asks for my recipes. I’m an advocate of being healthy, so staying active with swimming, surfing, spinning, and yoga are sports that I make time for consistently. In my still moments, I love creative writing, reading, and playing guitar. Oh, and I love growing plumerias! Ah, they smell heavenly! These things are just a brief introduction of me. I'm excited to meet you — and get to know all of you in class!
You can expect the best from me, just as I will expect your best from you! After all, learning is a prized investment in your life.
Be ready; this year is going to be the best year yet!
