The Santee School District (District) is located in East San Diego County, California, and serves the community of Santee.  The District owns an undeveloped school site (Site) within the City of Santee (City), commonly known as the Former Santee School site. The Site is approximately 13.21 acres and is located on the Southeast corner of Mission Gorge Road and Cottonwood Avenue.  A map showing the location of the Site may be obtained from the District.  The Site is currently zoned as General Commercial.

On October 6, 2015, the Board of Education of the District took action by adopting a resolution of intention to sell the site as surplus property pursuant to the applicable provisions of the California Education Code (Resolution No. 1516-07).  Prior to adoption of the Resolution, the Board received a recommendation from a duly formed District Advisory Committee that the Site be declared surplus and sold.

If you are interested in submitting an offer to purchase the Site, you have until 4:00 p.m. on November 16, 2015 to submit a written, sealed proposal.  The District’s Board of Education will open sealed proposals to purchase the Site, as well as accept any oral bids received pursuant to Education Code Section 17473, at its meeting at 7:00 p.m. on November 17, 2015 to be held in the Board Assembly Room of the Douglas E. Giles Educational Resource Center located at Santee School District, 9619 Cuyamaca Street, Santee, CA 92071. The District has set the minimum purchase price for the Site at Eight Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($8,500,000).  Any offer to purchase the Property must be an “ALL CASH” offer.
