Who I Am

I am a California teacher focused on teaching kids in a clean, safe, and fun learning environment.

I have been involved in education in one way or another for 15 years. This will be my fourth year teaching kindergarten. I have also taught fourth grade. Educating students is my passion and my calling. I feel privileged to be educating students in such a supportive learning environment and am so lucky to be have been able to spend each day teaching and learning with such incredible children and staff.

The year is spent exploring and delivering rigorous standards-based, research-based curriculum to pupils in a way that is very mindful to be engaging. One of my goals is for families and students to see the value in their experience. My intent is to foster the love of learning through engaging activities, the building of relationships, and by creating high interest learning activities that incorporate technology, accountability in education, kindness, and an emphasis on social emotional awareness and learning.  I work to build a positive, emotionally and physically “safe” environment - a low affective filter - so children feel comfortable enough to build persistence and resiliency. We explore and learn together, while addressing everyone’s individual needs and learning styles. My job, first and foremost, is to instill a love of learning and to apply a zestful approach to learning.  Together, my students and I learn how to gain the motivation to do well in school so that they can and will be well-prepared global citizens as they make their unique mark on the world!
