There are so many wonderful websites and links for children to use as a reference for homework, to learn new facts, and to have a bit of fun.
PARENTS must keep an eye on where their children are visiting when on the web. It may help to have the computer visible in a common area, like the family room, rather than in the child's room.
Children should be aware that they should avoid clicking on advertisements or "pop-ups", and that they should NEVER give out personal information such as name, address, or phone number to anyone on the web.
PARENTS should remind students that they should not be downloading materials without parental supervision. Sometimes a download may look innocent, but it may contain viruses or cookies that can damage the computer hard drive.
LINKS TO EDUCATIONAL WEBSITESHere are some website that I have found to be interesting, helpful, educational, and motivating for kids. Please note that while I have reviewed these sites, the link or site may change content, and that as a parent you should still verify that these sites are acceptable for your child. Thank you for your help in making the Internet safe for your child!Scoot Pad Xtra MathTween Tribune Tween Tribune Junior
