PARENT PROGRAM LETTER RULES, GUIDELINES, AND PROCEDURES FOR ROOM 7
Welcome to the new school year! My name is Julie Spradlin and I will be your child’s teacher. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work with your child in the coming months.
Open communication between the school and home is essential and I welcome speaking with you regarding your child’s progress or any other concern you may have regarding your child’s education. Please feel free to send me a note in your child’s Daily Folder, E-Mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at 619 258-3427 and I will respond to you in a timely manner. Also, if at all possible, participating in your child’s class by volunteering would be an invaluable experience to both you and your child!
It is important for the parents as well as the students to become aware of the classroom rules and consequences. These rules are enforced so as to eliminate as many distractions to the learning environment as possible. Please go over these rules with your child and let him/her know of their importance. The rules are as follows:
Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
If a child chooses to break a rule or rules the following consequences will be enforced:
First infraction Verbal warning/clip pull
Second infraction Time out—loss of recess, classroom activity/clip pull
Third infraction Same as above plus a note and/or phone call home
Fourth infraction Immediate referral to the office
Your child will earn a " Star Buck” for various reasons some of which are: appropriate behavior, completed class work (or best effort given) and completed homework turned in when it is due. Your child’s success is all-important. To promote that success a policy of positive reinforcement including, but not limited to, positive comments, “Star Bucks” to purchase items from our class store, special helpers, free computer time, etc. has been implemented.
A folder will be sent home each day with any incomplete class work, class work that needs to be corrected, notices, etc. Class work and tests may also be enclosed. Weekly homework will be enclosed on Fridays. (Except Friday holidays). Please take the time to go over your child’s papers with him/her, praising good work and encouraging improvement where needed. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you correct any errors with your child on homework or class work so that he/she has a better understanding of any misunderstood work. MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD BRINGS HIS/HER DAILY FOLDER TO SCHOOL EACH AND EVERY DAY.
Books from our school library maybe checked out by students on a weekly basis. Those books will not be taken home.
Towards the end of the school year, each child will have the opportunity to share. I will let you know when it is your child’s turn to share and give you information on what may be shared.
