• About Mrs. Bennett

sf My name is Robynn Bennett. I am a graduate of Santana High School, San Diego State University, and National University.  I have a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree with an emphasis in teaching Reading and Technology.  I am also Gate certified.  This is my 30th year of teaching, 25 of which have been here at Carlton Hills.  My three children all "graduated" from here and my granddaughter attended Hills as well.
I was born in Miami, Florida, but have lived here in Santee since I was 14 and am a proud graduate of Santana High School class of 1980.  I have been married for 33 years to my best friend, Jim.  We have three children:  Amy (30), Kristynn (28), and James (26). My 11 year-old granddaughter, Hailey, also lives with me. We have a snake, 4 tarantulas, and a desert tortoise as pets.
My hobbies are reading, soccer, the beach, sailing, kayaking, bike riding, tent camping, hiking, off-roading, traveling to new places, and anything outdoors.  I am also an avid motorcyle rider and love my cherry red Triumph Street Twin.  I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
I am passionate about equipping students to be successful, life-long, independent learners.  I value community and the ability to learn and grow together.  We are all far-from-perfect, but working together, we can accomplish great things.  I want students to feel valued, respected, and important.
