    Homework Policy

Homework activities are designed to make your child more successful in the classroom. Homework is useful because it reinforces what has been learned in class, prepares students for future lessons, and teaches responsibility and discipline.

Students will have homework Monday through Thursday. It is due the day after it is assigned with the exception of the weekly spelling packet which is due Friday. If a student is absent, they have until Monday (weekend completion if necessary) to complete the assignments for that day. Please make homework a priority and provide your child with a quiet time and place to complete homework. Students are responsible for recording daily assignments in their homework folders. You may also find daily assignments located on the Chet F. Harritt website under Mrs. Onners. In grade 3

Weekly Envelopes with practice and graded work will be sent home on Fridays. Please ask your child for the envelope, look through it with your child, and return the empty envelope signed on Monday.

Students are expected to show their best effort on homework assignments. Homework assignments should be titled completely, neatly written, and turned in on time.

If students choose not to complete their homework, they will work on it at recess. When a student begins to show a continual pattern of incomplete assignments, you will be notified.
