My name is Sarah Durand and I am so pleased to be teaching second grade at Pepper Drive School!
This is my fifth year as a full-time classroom teacher. Prior to teaching second grade at Pepper Drive, I taught third, seventh, and eighth grade at Carlton Oaks School. Before becoming a teacher at Carlton Oaks, I was a substitute teacher, literacy coach, and also a tutor and teaching assistant at Grossmont High School.
I grew up in Santee and attended Cajon Park School for grades K - 8. I then went to West Hills High School where I was involved in Dance Club and Color Guard. After high school, I attended San Diego State University where I received my Bachelor's Degree in the field of English with Distinction. I went on to receive my multiple subject teaching credential from SDSU as well.
Some of my favorite past times include reading, yoga, going to the beach, participating in mud runs and other running events, hiking, and playing with my cats!
