I am thrilled to be starting this year as Vice Principal at Pepper Drive School. The students, families, and staff have all welcomed me with open arms. The Pepper Drive School community is strong and tight-knit with a clear vision for student achievement.
I am a native to San Diego and have spent my career working in San Diego County schools. I began my teaching experience in the Lakeside Union School District where I taught 2nd grade at Lindo Park Elementary. I later moved to Campo Elementary School in the Mountain Empire Unified School District. There, I taught 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. When I was hired by the Lemon Grove School District, I became a "Teacher on Special Assignment" with a focus on data-based student interventions and instruction for academic and behavior support. I was also an Assistant Principal in the district, working at two school sites. I have experience working in a dual language setting, an arts-integration school, and an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.
I am passionate about my work and about actively engaging our students in the learning process. I believe it is imperative that we make our schools vibrant, inviting, restorative and engaging
places where learning is paramount. As a site administrator, I support the instructional program and
academic achievement in a variety of ways.
At Pepper Drive School, every child grows. I look forward to meeting all of our students and getting to know your families. I strive to support the individual needs of each student and celebrate the challenges we overcome. My door is open to you and I hope that you will come speak to me or contact me via phone/email anytime.
This is going to be a year of growth for the Pepper Drive Tigers!
