MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS / AND APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

CERTIFICATIONS MUST BE CURRENT AND LEGIBLE. INCOMPLETE AND / OR PAPER APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

On-line certification for First Aid/CPR/AED is acceptable for application purposes only.
Proof of hands-on certification will be required prior to employment.

Paraprofessional COMPLIANCE TESTING:

Applicants applying for a position requiring parafrossional certification, and who are not compliant, must pass the Santee School District’s Proficiency Test. The two-hour District Proficiency Test will be given MOST Wednesdays, between 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, at the District Office for a $7.00 processing fee.
Payment by cash or money order must be made at the time the test is provided.

3121 ALTERNATIVE SOCIAL SECURITY PLAN (FICA)
(Applies to ALL NEW part-time classified employees working less than (4) hours per day)
Contributions to the 3121 Alternative Social Security Plan made by the District and all new part-time employees will take the place of contributions to Social Security (FICA).
Internal Revenue Code Section 3121 provides an alternative to social security as a retirement program for part-time, temporary, and seasonal employees (“3121 Plan”). Employer and employee contributions that would normally be paid to FICA will instead be directed to a qualifying account similar to an IRA (Individualized Retirement Account) or a 403b/457b TSA (Tax Sheltered Annuity) account.
