Learn More About ASES PRIDE

A message from the Director

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We want to thank you for choosing the PRIDE Academy ASES Program at Prospect Avenue. This enrichment program is different than a typical "child care" program. The most significant difference is that the funding is from the State of California and comes with many "Funding Terms and Conditions" that all of us must follow to make sure that we can continue to offer this program.

Most of these regulations are complied with behind the scenes. One that we work with you to meet is our attendance goals There are specific attendance guidelines that you, the adult, are required to adhere to. Please know that these regulations are set forth by the state so that your child will receive the maximum benefit from the program. If you need an option that does not have restrictions, you can sign up for our PRIDE Parent Pay Program. You will receive the same services, but do not have to adhere to any type of attendance guidelines, since you pay for the program.

The program during the school year is divided into two (2) parts: before school and afterschool. You may sign up for one or both. Each come with separate guidelines. Basically, your child is to attend the before school program from 6:15 a.m. until school starts and the afterschool program from school dismissal until 6:00 p.m. Your child should also attend every day that he/she attends school. Any deviation from these hours or days requires that you complete a Late Arrival Authorization Form or an Early Dismissal Authorization Form. It also requires that you fill in the Early Release or Late Arrival Code on the sign in or out sheet.

Our Summer Supplemental Program is separate from the school year. The Funding Terms & Conditions are similar; the hours are different. Summer Supplement morning program is offered from 6:30-9:30 am. Our Summer Supplement full day program is offered from 9:30 am-4:30 pm. After program care is available from 4:30 pm-6:00 pm at no extra cost. Again, the intent of the state legislation is that children signed up for this program should attend the supplemental program every day and for the full range of hours offered. Any deviation requires the appropriate Authorization Form be completed.

Our program often has a waiting list of parents who want their child to attend. In an effort to meet our attendance numbers, we must make sure that our families are meeting their requirements for their child's attendance. Please make sure that you are following the attendance requirements. Children currently enrolled in the program who are not meeting the attendance guidelines may be terminated from the program. You will be advised before this happens.
