The Santee School District Board of Education met at 6 p.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Meeting highlights included:
Reports and Presentations
- The Board of Education adopted the Santee School District Governance Standards and Team Norms as guidelines to help increase effectiveness and improve the quality of governance and leadership for the District.
- Administration provided a brief overview of key components of the Governor’s plan for the 2026-2027 State Budget. More details will be provided at a Budget Workshop scheduled for March 3, 2026.
- The Board authorized the execution and recording of a Full Reconveyance of the Public Schools Security Indenture and Deed of Trust recorded against the property at 9953 Buena Vista Avenue, thereby releasing the District’s lien. More information can be found in the Board Packet.
- The Board approved the agreement with FMX for Event Manager, Capital Planner and Facility Condition Assessment Services. This agreement will provide the District with a scalable, data-driven facilities management system that improves operational efficiency and strengthens long-term capital planning for our aging infrastructure.
- The Board adopted Resolution No. 2526-06 of the Santee School District Board of Education authorize the lease purchase of 260 MacBook Air staff laptops. We are moving to a single, dependable MacBook model for teachers and staff to make our district more efficient. The MacBook’s are built to last longer than budget alternatives, which will cut down on frequent replacement. Having one standard Mac device will allow our IT team to address and resolve problems faster, which will keep our classrooms running smoothly, ensuring our investment in technology supports our teachers and alleviates frustration
