Victor Hourani was appointed as ELP Coordinator. Mr. Hourani is currently a Behavioral Specialist, a certificated nonmanagement position, with the ELP program. This certificated non-management position would not be replaced. Prior to his employment with the District, Mr. Hourani was a physical education teacher and director of football operations at Saint Augustine High School. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from Brandman University.

The Board adopted Resolution No. 2425-09, directing staff to take actions necessary to pursue the issuance of certain General Obligation Refunding bonds. This will allow the district to refinance these bonds at no cost; this will also allow for an additional cost savings to the taxpayers of approximately $2.7 million.

The Board approved a change in the continuum of special education services with the addition of two district-program classes at PRIDE Academy beginning August 2025. These classes will provide even more structure for students
with specialized needs and supports related LCAP goals in the area of special education.

The Board approved a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Santee School District’s After School Education and Safety Program (ASES) and San Diego County Superintendent of Schools for fiscal year 2024-2025.
ASES has provided before and after school programs since the 2007-2008 school year. This program delivers at least 1.5 hours of activities before school and 3.0 hours after school. ASES is eligible for a three-year grant awarded in three one-year increments and subject to semiannual attendance reporting once every three years and has proven to be a successful program.
