The Santee School District Board of Education met at 6 p.m. February 4, 2025. Meeting highlights included:
Reports and Presentations
- Spotlight on Education: Pepper Drive staff provided an update on student assessment and survey results from the 2023-24 school year as well as site collaboration plans for the 2024-25 school year.
- Fall 2024 California Schools Dashboard Presentation: Kevin Fairchild, Director of Assessment and Learning Support reviewed this year’s results, new Dashboard features for 2024, and comparisons across the county.
Discussion and/or Action Items
- The Board appointed Matthew Hudson as the new Director of Facilities, Maintenance and Operations, effective February 12, 2025. Mr. Hudson is currently the Facilities Maintenance and Operations Manager at Ramona Unified School District. Mr. Hudson holds a certificate in Building Trades Electrical, is licensed as a California State Certified General Electrician, Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) Certified; and holds Asbestos Awareness Certification from CALOSHA. Prior to his employment at Ramona USD, Mr. Hudson was a Construction and Maintenance Manager at Sea World, and Plant Engineering Director at the San Diego Zoo.
