Reports and Presentations
- The Board of Education honored a number of outstanding students in the Santee School District. Each school’s teaching and administrative staff selected these students to be acknowledged for their accomplishments. We are proud to recognize them for the excellent effort they have demonstrated this school year and the wonderful role models they have been to others.

- With California Assembly Bill (AB) 3216 Pupil: Use of Smartphones taking effect July 1, 2026, the Board of Education met with student representatives on October 15, 2024, to gather their input. A separate survey was sent to all District staff. The Board was provided with an update on the survey results and
next steps.
Public Hearing
- A public hearing was held for Use of Government Code 4217.12 to Utilize CalSHAPE Funds for Improvements of Ventilation Systems Districtwide. Details can be found in the Board Packet.
Discussion and/or Action Items

Gretchen Murphy was appointed as Principal. Ms. Murphy has been a Vice Principal in the District since 2021, and prior to that served as a special day class teacher, resource specialist teacher, and teacher on special assignment in another district.

The board adopted Resolution No. 2425-17 authorizing the issuance of Santee
School District Refunding Bonds not to exceed $22,000,000. Refinancing the "2015 Refunding Bonds” will be at no cost to the District and will provide an additional cost savings to the taxpayers of approximately $2.7 million.
