The Santee School District Board of Education met at 6 p.m., Tuesday, November 18, 2025. Meeting highlights included:
Reports and Presentations
- Spotlights on Education: Cajon Park and Carlton Hills staff presented updates to the Board highlighting what makes the school unique and outlining strategic plans to elevate student achievement for the 2025–2026 school year.
- 2025 California Schools Dashboard and State Assessment Data Presentation: Kevin Fairchild, Director of Assessment, reported on the release of the 2025 Dashboard, the assessment data on which the indicators are based, and comparisons with districts across the county and the state. Santee School District is in the Green for ELA, Math, Science, Chronic Absenteeism, and Suspension Rates, indicating positive and steady growth in those areas.
- Dr. Lisa Paisley, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, reported on the 2025-26 LCAP Timeline and Process, which can be viewed in the Board Packet.
Discussion and/or Action Items
- The Board approved the School Safety and Culture Prevention Proposal from Safe and Sound Schools from November 2025 – June 2026. Safe and Sound School (SASS), a national non-profit school safety and advocacy and resource center, provides research-based tools and supports for crisis-prevention, response, and recovery. This project is designed to equip district leaders with tools, processes, and relationships that enable sustained improvement in safety and climate across all schools. SASS will conduct the following sessions and actions in January 2026 – June 2026:
- Campus walkthroughs and a site leadership workshop, January 12 and 13
- Community engagement session, January 12
- Development of an improvement plan, January 14 – June 30

- The Board discussed and selected nominations for the California School Boards Association (CSBA) Delegate Assembly.
