The Santee School District Board of Education met at 6 p.m., Tuesday, October 7, 2025. Meeting highlights included:
Reports and Presentations
- Spotlight: Buddy's Backpacks - The Board recognized the Santee Mobilehome Owners Action Committee, Inc., alongside its dedicated members and volunteers, for their outstanding volunteerism and commitment to our community through Buddy's Backpacks. This community initiative provides local students with free backpacks and school supplies prior to the first day of school.
- Spotlights on Education: PRIDE Academy and Rio Seco staff presented updates to the Board highlighting what makes the school unique and outlining strategic plans to elevate student achievement for the 2025–2026 school year.
Discussion and/or Action Items
- The Board granted tenure to 24 certificated employees. The full list of employees can be found in the Board Packet.
- The Board appointed the Superintendent’s committee assignments to fill vacancies on the various Board Advisory Committees. The applicants represent a variance of schools throughout the District. Administration will continue to recruit membership in Board Advisory Committees to assure parent and community input is received. Committee assignments are listed in the Board Packet.

The following Revised Board Policies (BP) were adopted:
- BP 1340 – Access to District Records
- BP 3555 – Nutrition Program Compliance
- BP 5145.3 – Nondiscrimination/Harassment

- BP 5144 – Discipline
