The Santee School District Board of Education met at 6 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2025. Meeting highlights included:
Reports and Presentations
- Spotlight: Kiwanis Club of Santee – Junior Olympics. The Board of Education recognized the Kiwanis Club of Santee for their outstanding contribution to Santee School District students in sponsoring and orchestrating the annual Junior Olympics event.
- Spotlight on Education: Carlton Oaks School staff presented an update to the Board highlighting what makes the school unique and outlining strategic plans to elevate student achievement for the 2025–2026 school year.
- Spotlight on Education: Counseling Program. Mike Olander, Director of Pupil Services, and Janessa Nedney, Community Collaborative Director, presented on the school counseling services for the 2025-2026 school year.
Public Hearing
- A public hearing was held for: Compliance with Education Code Section 60119
(Williams Settlement): K-12 Textbook and Instructional Materials Funding Realignment Program. Details can be found in the Board Packet.
Discussion and/or Action Items
- The Board appointed the Superintendent’s committee assignments to fill vacancies on the various Board Advisory Committees. The applicants represent a variance of schools throughout the District. Administration will continue to recruit membership in Board Advisory Committees to assure parent and community input is received. Committee assignments are listed in the Board Packet.

The following Revised Board Policies (BP) were adopted:
- BP 1312.3 – Uniform Complaint Procedures
- BP 6142.8 – Comprehensive Health Education
- BP 6141.2 – Recognition of Religious Beliefs and Customs
First reading was held for Revised Board Policies (BP):
- BP 1340 – Access to District Records
- BP 3555 – Nutrition Program Compliance
- BP 5145.3 – Nondiscrimination/Harassment
