The Santee School District Child Nutrition Services Department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well-being and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.

Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.

The Child Nutrition program provides portioned, balanced, healthy, and delicious meals to students in the Santee School District.

We offer a large variety of options in an attempt to meet the needs of all our students. All of our bread items are made with whole grains. At lunch students can choose from a minimum of five different entrees each day along with fresh fruits and vegetables from the self-serve salad bar to compliment their entree choice. We offer a a variety of fruits and vegetables including dark greens, red/oranges, legumes and a variety of fresh fruits. On a regular basis we offer farm to school produce picked just a day or two before it reaches the salad bar.

It is truly our pleasure to serve your students each day. If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to contact me at 619-258-2290.
