As our school year draws to a close, we are beginning to plan for the safe return of all students on August 19th. Our priority is to provide students and staff with a safe learning environment on our school campuses this fall. We will continue to update and refine our safety guidelines as we receive guidance from the State and local public health officials. We hope you have a relaxing and safe summer break. We look forward to seeing our students and families in the fall.
Congratulations to our promoting eighth graders and their families! We wish our eighth graders the best of luck as they start high school.
Please read, and follow the links below, for the most current information on social emotional learning, summer learning materials, iPad return, and student meals:
When we return to school in the fall, our staff will be implementing a new social emotional learning curriculum, Second Step. At the classroom level, Second Step works on the development of listening skills, empathy, emotional management, friendship skills, and problem solving. We think the timing of this curriculum implementation is extremely important given the circumstances endured by our students these past few months.
Our curriculum department developed a two-week learning extension for any interested families. Parents may pick up paper packets at Educational Services throughout the summer, or you can download the packet digitally beginning this weekend at: http://www.santeesd.net/Page/14503.
We begin collecting student iPads and charger blocks and cables Monday, June 8 - Tuesday, June 9. Saturday's iPad collection has been canceled. Please see notes below regarding your school's designated collection location.
