Please continue to check this website for school closure updates.  Due to limited staff, please email general school closure questions to:  info@santeesd.net or leave a voicemail at (619) 258-2300.

We miss you and hope you are finding ways to connect with friends and family during this difficult time. We know you have been waiting to hear about our plans for the remainder of the school year. Since the San Diego County Public Health orders are written “until further notice” and based on social distancing expectations in these orders, we will not be able to re-open this school year for traditional, in-person classes but will continue delivering our remote learning plan through our last day of school, June 10.

Please read, and follow the links below, for the most current information on remote learning, iPad pick-up, and student meals:

    1. Promotion:
We have a District committee preparing details for promotion. Site-based promotion activities include a video presentation shared digitally with families, promotion "parades" using personal vehicles, and 8th grade promotion yard signs.

    2. Report Cards Mailed Home:
Students will receive a final report card for the year with written comments from the teacher(s).  Students will not receive a standards-based or letter grade for Trimester 3. If your student has multiple junior high teachers, he/she will receive written comments in the four major content areas: English language arts, mathematics, science, and history

    3. Next School Year:
Our planned first day of school for the 2020-21 school year is Wednesday, August 19. Based on the rapid changes we’ve all been experiencing, it is hard to predict exactly what school will look like on August 19. However, within the next week, parents of Kindergarten – Grade 7students will receive a letter regarding a new District process called “Annual Information Renewal”. This year’s annual renewal process will include:

      •  instructions on how to update your contact information in our student information system;
      •  your family’s intent to return to Santee School District in the fall.

    4. Santee School District's Remote Learning Program
Two weeks of content has been provided so students and teacher can all learn how to work and communicate remotely before your student's teacher launches his/her own instructional program.

Printed material, those unable to access these digital resources, can be found in grade level bins for pickup at the Educational Resources Center, 9619 Cuyamaca Street, Santee, from 8am-3pm, Monday through Friday.

For students and/or parents who require technical support with their iPad and/or curriculum materials, please submit the Tech Support Form.

    5. Student meals continue to be provided to our students until further notice. Starting April 23, meals for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be distributed on Thursdays. We will be closed on Fridays.  Meals may be picked up at the following locations:

      - District Office Central Kitchen, 9880 Riverwalk Drive, Monday - Thursday, 11 – 1 pm
      - Pepper Drive School, 1935 Marlina Way, El Cajon, Monday - Thursday, 11 - 12:30 pm (new location beginning Tuesday, May 26, due to construction at PRIDE Academy)

    Thank You Thank you

Thank you for taking your time to complete the 2019-20 school/family engagement survey.  Survey questions were developed to better understand community perception of:

    • District expectations of student learning
    • Communication to parents and the community
    • Emotional and physical safety of students
    • Engagement of parents and families in the educational process

The Santee School District is committed to providing a great place for students to learn and for parents to send their children for a quality education. Survey data was shared with the Board of Education on January 21, 2020 and will also be shared as stakeholder feedback in the development of the 2020-21 Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP).
