Board of Education Meeting Highlights Apr. 19, 2022
The Santee School District Board of Education met at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Apr. 19, taking action on a total of 29 agenda items. Meeting highlights included:
Reports and Presentations
- President Levens-Craig’s SSD Proud Moment highlighted Pepper Drive’s recent donation to the Guitar Club, upcoming in-person campus events and more. Read more here.
- As a follow up to the Panorama Survey results presented to the Board in January 2022, the survey data on students’ perception of safety were presented. The process of analyzing the data at the school sites was explained, as well as the actions that were taken across the district to address the perception of safety.
Consent and Action Items
- Through two resolutions, the Board declared May 11, 2022, as Day of the Teacher and May 15 – 21, 2022 as Classified School Employees Week to honor all of the work that Santee School District employees do to provide an exceptional learning environment for students.
- The Board approved the official dedication of the grass field park at Cajon Park School to Marcia Ginn-Tofflemire, in honor of Marcia’s 50 years of service to the Santee School District. Read about Marcia's service here.
- Revised job descriptions were approved for the two Assistant Superintendent positions that the District will be recruiting for in 2022, along with a services agreement with Leadership Associates to conduct the recruitment.
The next meeting of the Santee School District Board of Education will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2022, in the Educational Resource Center, 9619 Cuyamaca, Santee.
