Peace, Love and School Lunch!

The Board of Education joined the School Nutrition Association and school districts from across the U.S. in proclaiming October 10 -14, 2022, National School Lunch Week. The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) serves nearly 30 million children every school day. President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week (NSLW) in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and the impact it has inside and outside of the classroom.

Throughout the week we shared fun facts on our Facebook page about our nutrition program, introduced our students to new and exciting foods (think mango and jicama!) and met the Child Nutrition Services team that ensures each child receives a well-balanced meal. Check out some of our fun facts and pictures from the week below!
