The Santee Collaborative is Celebrating Kindness in Santee
The Santee Collaborative works to embrace unity and build resilient children and families through empowering community members to get involved. To celebrate the many ways community members give back, the Collaborative has launched a campaign to highlight kindness in Santee. Through sharing stories of kindness from community members, businesses, and organizations, the Collaborative aims to shed light on what makes the community so wonderful.
"The Santee Collaborative works to create a healthier, more proactive community through collaboration by taking an active role in Santee,” said Angela Tomlinson, Director of the Collaborative. “The Kindness Campaign is meant to highlight how kind Santee is. I feel honored to work with our partners and community that value being kind to one another."
Community members can join in on the effort by requesting a Kindness Campaign sign to place at their home or business, submit a story of kindness to share on the Collaborative’s website and social media, or download campaign artwork to share on their own social media pages.
The Santee School District is also participating throughout the year by sharing stories of kindness from its schools. This week, several schools in the District are celebrating Kindness Week, encouraging students to make kindness the norm and to share it everywhere they go.
“Kindness, empathy, and respect are characteristics our schools aim to foster in students,” said Dr. Kristin Baranski, Santee School District Superintendent. “The District is proud to support the Collaborative in their Kindness Campaign, and I look forward to sharing the many acts of kindness we experience in our schools each day.”
