English Language Proficiency Assessment for California

(ELPAC)

The Initial ELPAC is given to students whose home language is not English when they initially enroll in a California public school.

The Summative ELPAC is given to all multilingual learners in grades K through 12 each spring, until the student is reclassified as fluent in English.

This page contains a Parent's Guide to Understanding the ELPAC in English and eight other languages.
