iPad App Requests

List of Approved Apps

Android-apps

The current selection of apps that teachers may load into student devices through the MDM (mobile device management system) may be accessed by clicking HERE. This list includes the name of the app, a link to it in the iTunes store with a description, the size of the app, and its cost (if any).

If you see an app in the MDM catalog/library, but it is not on this list, it means that it is not approved for loading onto your students' devices. Typically, these apps have a relatively small number of titles available (a few hundred or less versus thousands).

Before requesting that a new app is loaded into the MDM library, please carefully evaluate it. Also, look at the existing app list to see if we already have a similar app in the library. Please remember that you want to allow at least two weeks for evaluation of an app and, if appropriate, its addition to the library. Apps that require student logins and/or include storage of student data will require additional time to review as our first priority is always student safety. If you have thoroughly evaluated an app and are interested in loading a free app onto your student devices that is NOT on this list, click HERE to fill out an online request form. If it is a paid app, you will need to discuss this with a site administrator, as they will need to furnish a budget code along with the app request.

Additionally, you will want to monitor student device storage space remaining before pushing any app (especially the larger ones), as devices with little or no remaining storage may cease to function.

Additionally, after training, teachers will need to choose a productivity suite to load into their students' devices.

Choice A: Microsoft Office Suite

  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Microsoft Excel

Choice B: Apple Productivity Suite

  • Pages
  • Keynote
  • Numbers

Teachers who have completed the steps required for using Google Classroom may load Google's productivity suite, rather than Microsoft or Apple's. These include:

  • Google Classroom
  • Google Docs
  • Google Slides
  • Google Sheets
  • Google Drive

If you have any questions, please contact Dan Prouty or one of the Curriculum Resource Teachers.
