Marcia Ginn-TofflemireCarlton Oaks School is celebrating 50 years since opening its doors in 1972. Since that first day, Carlton Oaks has worked to inspire a passion for learning in more than 45,000 students, and one employee in particular has been there every step of the way.

Marcia Ginn-Tofflemire started with the Santee School District in 1972 on the first day of school at Carlton Oaks. For five decades she has served this District at various sites as a teacher, vice principal and principal, ultimately ending back up at Carlton Oaks. Even after retiring, she has come back several times throughout the pandemic to support our staff and the success of our students. She has also served on the Board of the Santee Educational Foundation, responsible for raising and distributing funds through grants to further support the educational needs of the Santee School District Community.

The Santee School District Board of Education approved the official dedication of the grass field park at Cajon Park School to Marcia, in honor of her eight years of service to Cajon Park and collective 50 years to the District.
