Substitute Teacher Pay Rates

(eff. January 1, 2025)

General Education Classroom

Full Day - $200

Half Day - $110

*Long Term - $250

Special Education Classroom

Full Day - $210

Half Day - $137.50

*Long Term - $275

Long-Term Substitute Pay:
Long-term substitute pay begins on day 21 of a specified long term assignment and remains in effect as long as the substitute has continuous employment in the assignment.  To qualify for the long term sub rate, all 20 days must be worked in the same long term assignment, in the same classroom, at the same school, and approved by the site administrator.

Pay Schedule:
Please note the San Diego County School payroll schedule:  substitute employees are paid monthly for work performed during the previous month (e.g. December days worked are paid January 30).  Timesheets are to be submitted by the last workday of the month to the school site secretary for processing.
