*Please note the San Diego County Schools payroll schedule: substitute employees are paid monthly for work performed during the previous month (e.g. September substitute days are paid October 30).  

2024-2025 Substitute Teacher Pay Rates
Effective Date: July 3, 2024
Board Approval Date: July 2, 2024

General Education

Special Education

Full Day - $200

Full Day - $210

($250 over 20 consecutive days)

($275 over 20 consecutive days)

Half Day - $110

Half Day - $137.50

This unique opportunity is available exclusively to participants who complete the substitute training day.
