           Registration for the 25-26 school year is now open! 

Age Requirements/Enrollment Priorities

Children are enrolled in order of specific program admission priorities. Guidelines are established by the California Department of Education. These priorities are as follows:

  • 1st Priority: 
    • Children ages 3–4 who are involved with Child Protective Services (CPS) or at risk of neglect, abuse, or exploitation, with a written referral from a legal, medical, or social service agency.
    • A portion of funded enrollment is also set aside for children with exceptional needs.
  • 2nd Priority: 
    • Children ages 3–4 with exceptional needs from income-eligible families.
    • If there is limited space, we prioritize:
      1. Lowest family income
      2. Dual Language Learners (if income is the same)
      3. Application date
  • 3rd Priority: 
    • 4-year-olds (by December 1) not enrolled in Transitional Kindergarten (TK)
    • Then 3-year-olds (by December 1)
    • Children are prioritized by:
      1. Lowest family income
      2. Dual Language Learners (if income is the same)
      3. Application date

  • 4th Priority:
    • Families slightly above the income limit (up to 15% over).
    • Priority order:
      1. Children with exceptional needs
      2. 4-year-olds
      3. 3-year-olds
    • Within each group, we prioritize:
      1. Lowest family income
      2. Dual Language Learners (if income is the same)
      3. Application date

If your child exceeds the age limit above, he/she may be eligible for another program below for the 25-26 school year.

Families who meet the age eligible requirements, also need to meet the income guidelines set by the California Department of Education (CDE).

If your family exceeds the current income ceiling, we offer Y.A.L.E. (Youngsters Actively Learning Everyday), a fee based Preschool Program. For more information please call 619-258-2363 or email: [email protected].

 

Other Requirements

 

Child must reside in San Diego County.

Physician’s report must be filled out and signed by your child’s physician and submitted with the registration packet.

Potty Training: Children are encouraged to be completely potty trained and be able to manage themselves in the restroom. We are happy to provide resources in this area to ensure school success.

Immunizations required:

  • DTap-four doses
  • Polio-three doses
  • Hep B-three doses
  • MMR-one dose on or after 1st birthday
  • Varicella-one dose
  • HIB-one dose after 1st birthday
