Age Requirements/Enrollment Priorities
In order to qualify by age, your child must be 3 (three) by December 1st, 2026.
If your child exceeds the age limit above he/she may be eligible for another program below.

If your child’s date of birth is between 9/2/21 and 9/1/22

If your child’s date of birth is between 9/2/20 and 9/1/21

Children are enrolled in order of specific program admission priorities. Guidelines are established by the California Department of Education. These priorities are as follows:
- 1st Priority:
- Children ages 3–4 who are involved with Child Protective Services (CPS) or at risk of neglect, abuse, or exploitation, with a written referral from a legal, medical, or social service agency.
- A portion of funded enrollment is also set aside for children with exceptional needs.
- 2nd Priority:
- Children ages 3–4 with exceptional needs from income-eligible families.
- If there is limited space, we prioritize:
- Lowest family income
- Dual Language Learners (if income is the same)
- Application date
- 3rd Priority:
- 4-year-olds (by December 1) not enrolled in Transitional Kindergarten (TK)
- Then 3-year-olds (by December 1)
- Children are prioritized by:
- Lowest family income
- Dual Language Learners (if income is the same)
- Application date
- 4th Priority:
- Families slightly above the income limit (up to 15% over).
- Priority order:
- Children with exceptional needs
- 4-year-olds
- 3-year-olds
- Within each group, we prioritize:
- Lowest family income
- Dual Language Learners (if income is the same)
- Application date
