Early Admission to Kindergarten (EAK)

EAK is a free, state-funded, half-day kindergarten program that begins in January each school
year. EAK is for children who will be five years of age by April 30 of the year they are being
served, and are not currently enrolled in kindergarten or transitional kindergarten. The
program is open to all eligible students living in the community. Participation is voluntary
and not designed to take the place of kindergarten. Students participating in the EAK
program will continue to kindergarten the following year.

EAK Eligibility Qualifications. Children must meet the program qualifications listed below:

Age: Child must turn 5 years old February 2nd through April 30th of the current school year.
Immunizations: Children must have the immunizations required before entering the program. Click Here to view immunization requirements for EAK.
Residency: Must show proof of residency within the Santee School District. You can also register with an Inter-District Transfer Request. We will place with space availability. 


Registration for the 22-23 school year will begin in October 2022.
